Go For The Gold
Looking back at my childhood, I was ALWAYS an overachiever. I would always go above and (WAY) beyond, especially when it came to school projects (bring out the hot glue gun, glitter, you name it–I had it!) As I grew up and went to college and into the corporate world, being an overachiever became less and less important. Not because I didn’t care, but because I wasn’t doing something that lit me up every day.
Fast forward to today, and the overachiever feeling is starting to haunt me again. But is it healthy to ALWAYS try to be an overachiever, even when you’re doing something you love? My new motto is–go for the gold, but so what if you get the silver or bronze (or no medal at all)?
