New York Fashion Week At A Glance

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is in full swing, and I’m honored to be IN the city that never sleeps as I write this! Anna Wintour led the pack before NYFW officially even started by hosting the Made for History Fashion Show campaign fundraiser for Hillary Clinton with t-shirts designed by Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu and more. Tom Ford went against the grain and showcased his Fall 2016 collection rather than his Spring 2017 collection which will be available for purchase today (GASP!) But there’s still 5 more days of fashion goodness waiting to be seen on (and off!) the runways, so stay tuned for my full report next Friday!

In the meantime, let’s take a look back at some of my favorite moments from NYFW this past February, which proves that you can ALWAYS incorporate a taste of NYFW into YOUR wardrobe!

Black lace. Whether it is a peekaboo slip, an elegant blouse or a full on lace dress, black lace simply has the IT factor no matter WHO wears it!

Get. Your. Fringe. On. Fringe is here to stay, and I personally can’t get enough of it. If you haven’t gotten your fringe on yet, start with just one item – a purse, a skirt or a cardigan. A little fringe goes a long way!

Cutouts. While cutouts can be modest or extreme (NYFW tends to take things to the extreme!), you might wonder how YOU can incorporate cutouts into your every day wardrobe. I haven’t met ONE woman who doesn’t like her shoulders so you can never go wrong with a cold shoulder blouse. Remember, showing less skin leaves MORE to the imagination!

Lesson Learned: Fashion Week can last ALL year (if you really want it to!)

Get Inspired: “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future… this is known as Fashion Week.” – Carrie Bradshaw
