It’s A Nice Day For A Non-White Wedding

Wedding bells are ringing left and right! With Pippa Middleton, Miranda Kerr, and not to mention my best friend of 20 years recently getting engaged, LOVE is surely in the air! This got me thinking about weddings as a whole and embracing the UN-TRADITIONAL.

Elizabeth Taylor is the perfect example of embracing the UN-TRADITIONAL. Not only did she get married 8 times, she only wore white ONCE. Fast forward to Sarah Jessica Parker in a black Morgane Le Fay dress (Carrie Bradshaw would TOTALLY approve!), Dita Von Teese in a deep purple Vivienne Westwood gown, and Jessica Biel in a petal pink Giambattista Valli dress–I almost forgot that the norm for wedding dresses is white!

So what’s the moral of the story? I find that many women panic about what they “should” (or should not) wear as a guest to a wedding. No matter what, the bride will ALWAYS be the center of attention so why not be UN-TRADITIONAL (even if it’s just for a day) and wear something that says “HERE I AM WORLD!”

Lesson Learned: Can’t we all just really eat, drink, be merry, and look FABULOUS while doing it?
